New combined impedance‐source network inverter with high gain performance in low shoot‐through and improved quality factors

Abstract: Summary In this paper, a new combined impedance‐source network inverter (CISI) with high voltage gain in low duty cycle is presented. With common ground between the input source and the inverter bridge and a continuous input current, the proposed converter is a suitable choice for renewable energy applications. The duty cycle of the inverter switches is low, leading to a reduction in losses and improving the efficiency. Also, due to the small duty cycle, the modulation index can be increased, and as a result, … Show more

“…Figure 17A illustrates CSF curves of the diodes for the proposed converter compared to previous studies. 17,[22][23][24] The results prove the excellence of both the proposed converter and the converter in Yousefi Moghadam et al 24 for 0 ≤ d ST ≤ 0.12. According to the experimental results, the working range of the d ST for the proposed converter is under 0.1.…”

“…Using the power loss analysis, the efficiency curve of the proposed converter is obtained and compared with other works in Figure 19. According to the results, the efficiency of the proposed converter has higher values compared to the almost all converters except for Yousefi Moghadam et al 24 In addition, for the powers above 100 W (P ≥ 100 W), the proposed converter transfers power with the efficiency greater than 90%. It must be noted that the efficiency of the converter can be further improved using more qualified components, especially semiconductors and output filter.…”
