El concepto de delincuencia transnacional se emplea en la Criminología desde la década de los setenta del siglo pasado: sin ir más lejos, se observa en el artículo de Clifford (1975) New Dimensions in Criminality: National and Transnational, o en el de Mickolus (1980), este más centrado en el fenómeno terrorista, Transnational Terrorism: A Chronology of Events. Si bien en los setenta se equiparaba la delincuencia transnacional a la delincuencia económica llevada a cabo por corporaciones, será en la próxima década que la delincuencia transnacional se expanda hacia otras actividades como el tráfico de estupefacientes, de armas o de migrantes.…”
