New Diterpenoids and Isocoumarin Derivatives from the Mangrove-Derived Fungus Hypoxylon sp.

Abstract: Two new diterpenoids, hypoxyterpoids A (1) and B (2), and four new isocoumarin derivatives, hypoxymarins A–D (4–7), together, with seven known metabolites (3 and 8–13) were obtained from the crude extract of the mangrove-derived fungus Hypoxylon sp. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated on the basis of 1- and 2-dimensional (1D/2D) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopic and mass spectrometric analysis. The absolute configurations of compounds 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 were determined by comparison… Show more

“…Two new diterpenoids, hypoxyterpoids A ( 79 ) and B ( 80 ), were obtained from the crude extract of the mangrove-derived fungus Hypoxylon sp. Among them, compound 79 showed moderate α -glucosidase inhibitory activities with IC 50 values of 74.2 ± 2.8 µM [ 29 ]. Two new brominated diterpenes, namely, laurendecumtriol ( 81 ) and 11- O -deacetylpinnaterpene C ( 82 ), were isolated and identified from the marine red alga Laurencia decumbens [ 30 ].…”

“…Meanwhile, another four new isocoumarin derivatives, hypoxymarins A–D ( 295 – 298 ), were obtained from the crude extract of the mangrove-derived fungus Hypoxylon sp. Particularly, compound 297 exhibited DPPH-scavenging activity with an IC 50 value of 15.4 ± 0.2 μM [ 29 ].…”

“…Labdane-type diterpenoids are one of the most abundant categories of secondary metabolites, which are discovered in plants [ 1 , 2 ], fungi [ 3 , 4 ], and marine organisms [ 5 , 6 ]. The labdane derivatives were isolated mainly from plant materials in families such as the gymnospers, as well as the Asteraceae, Lamiaceae, and Zingiberaceae [ 7 , 8 ], and sometimes they were discovered in actinomycetes [ 9 ].…”
