“…The Nosy Bé archipelago is characterized by alkali basalts, basanites, gabbro, and phonolites with more evolved syenites and rhyolites with an age range of 23.7–0.55 Ma (Bardintzeff et al., 2010; Emerick & Duncan, 1982; Melluso et al., 2016). In the Central Highlands, the Ankaratra province is characterized by nephelinites, basanites, and tholeiitic basalts as well as more evolved trachytes and phonolites (e.g., Cucciniello et al., 2011).
