New Paradigms in Catalysis Inspired by Cytochromes P450

Abstract: Cytochromes P450 (P450s or CYPs) are versatile biocatalysts capable of realizing a broad range of synthetically challenging reactions. The development of synthetic catalysts/catalytic systems that model the enzyme function is a goal that has long been pursued. In this account, we mainly summarize our latest advances in the field of P450s-inspired catalysis, including reductive activation strategy for highly efficient oxidations and an unusual L-cystine-derived ligand as the model of the P450s for highly effici… Show more

“…6 Furthermore, She, Li and co-workers have summarized the recent progress on the biomimetic synthesis of gymnotheligans based on their plausible biogenetic pathway proposal. 7 Han and co-workers summarized their latest advances on the development of novel biomimetic catalysts/catalytic systems inspired by cytochromes P450, 8 whilst Hu and coworkers have described their recent progress on the application of biomimetic dimerization strategies in the total syntheses of linderaspirone A, bi-linderone, parvistemin A, (±)-diperezone, scabellone B, and spiroxins A/C/D. 9 Additionally, Hong and co-workers have provided an overview of their biomimetic endeavors toward the macrocarbocyclic natural products, A-C. 10 Vincent and coworkers have reported their long journey toward the total synthesis of the mavacuran alkaloids and some highly complex natural bis-indoles.…”
