“…The late Pleistocene sites with P. remota are well distributed between these areas suggesting that it was probably present in other mountain ranges as well. Texas pinon currently reaches 1600 m altitude in Mexico and occurs as low as 410 m in Texas (Bailey and Wendt, 1979;Little, 1966). The midden sites with P. remora range from 610 m in the Big Bend to 1430 m in the Hueco Mountains with most of the western sites above 1000 m. The late Pleistocene record of P. remora in Durango suggests that this species was distributed well to the south in Mexico.…”
