Abstract:The 6-meter BTA telescope has been used to determine radial velocities for 40 galaxies, recently identified in the DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys as nearby objects. Half of them have kinematic distances within 11 Mpc being new probable companions to the bright Local Volume galaxies: NGC 628, Maffei 2, NGC 2787, M 81, NGC 4605 and NGC 4631. Six relatively isolated objects with heliocentric velocities in the range of [ − 150, +70] km s−1, together with the blue compact dwarf NGC 6789, form a diffuse association of … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
