“…However, by varying the luminol and hexacianoferrate(III) concentrations in the range between 1.0 -10 mmol L -1 and 10 -100 mmol L -1 , respectively, no differences on the calculated limit of detection of H 2 O 2 was observed. In this way, considering that luminol is a expensive reagent, the chemiluminescent reagents concentrations was selected as 1 mmol L -1 luminol, and since better baseline was observed with 50 mmol L -1 K 3 [Fe(CN) 6 ], this solution concentration was selected as well. It interesting to report that since there was no blank signal, the standard deviation of 20 measurements of the baseline values (that is the baseline noise) was used to calculate the limit of detection.…”

“…4 For amino acid determination, ion exchange chromatography and more recently reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography have been extensile used for amino acid separation and determination 5 and since amino acids only absorb electromagnetic radiation between 220 and 254 nm, in order to improve detection, a derivation step has been implemented, either pre-column or post-column, for determination of low concentration by spectrophotometry or spectrofluorimetry methods. 6 An widely used derivatisation method is based on the reaction with ninhydrine producing a blue color compound. 7 This method provided high sensitivity, nevertheless it undergoes strong interference caused by ammonia and primaries amines resulting in high blank values.…”

“…The raw material for synthesis of PIAA, 2-phenylindole, is non-toxic and inexpensive. Moreover, the relative fluorescence quantum efficiency of 2-phenylindole is much higher than that of carbazole [21], which has been used as a raw material for the synthesis of fluorescence reagents [22]. Without derivatization, the detection of DEG and its separation by reversed-phase HPLC would be difficult because DEG has no UV absorption or high polarity.…”

“…On the basis of the fluorescence characteristics of carbazole moiety [24], we synthesized a novel reagent, 2-(9-carbazole)-ethyl chloroformate (CEOC), which is easily accessible and very stable in its crystal state. In this study, with five monocyclic aromatic amines (o-toluidine, aniline, 3,4-dimethylaniline, N-ethyl-p-toluidine, p-phenylenediamine) as examples, effects of derivatization conditions, such as pH of buffer, reaction time and tagging reagent concentration, were investigated.…”
