New taxonomic status for Micrasema setiferum dolcinii Botosaneanu & Moretti, 1986 and first description of its larva (Trichoptera, Brachycentridae)

Abstract

The taxonomic status of Micrasema setiferum dolcinii Botosaneanu & Moretti, 1986, endemic of the Italian fauna, is reviewed and the authors propose that this subspecies should be raised to specific level. The larva is described for the first time and compared with larvae of other Italian species. Some taxonomic, zoogeographical and ecological notes are included. (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
