Abstract:Readers and authors may have noticed a new program at the Journal for publication of original articles in "thematic areas." These articles are given waivers of their article publication charge (APC; i.e., open access publishing fee). The program evolved from our activities during the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic.
