New thiadiazol azo disperse dyes derivatives and their application as a colored material for silk screen-printing ink for printing on polyester fabric

Abstract: Purpose This paper aims to synthesize new screen-printing ink formula based on new derivatives of azo thiadiazol disperse dyes and evaluate their characteristics after being printed on polyester fabric substrates. Design/methodology/approach New dispersed dyes based on 1, 3, 4-Thiadiazole derivatives (dyes 1 and 2) were prepared and confirmed by different analyses, infrared (IR), mass and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and then formulated as colored materials in the screen-printing ink formul… Show more

“…Furthermore, when the value of a/b grows, so does the red contribution. Similarly, when a / b = 1, the colour is “yellowish” orange, with the yellow contribution rising as a / b decreases (Modi and Patel, 2013; Ali et al , 2021; Abdelwahab et al , 2022).…”

“…The dyed polyester fabric samples’ color difference (Δ E ) was calculated using the following equation (eq ) normalΔ E = false[ false( normalΔ L false) 2 + false( normalΔ a false) 2 + false( normalΔ b false) 2 false] 1 / 2 where L indicates the color’s lightness and ranges from 100 for white to 0 for black, a measures the color’s redness (+ve) or greenness (−ve), b measures the color’s yellowness (+ve) and blueness (−ve), and Δ indicates a difference in the values for dyes or colors…”
