Next-to-leading order predictions forWW+jetproduction

Abstract: In this work we report on a next-to-leading order calculation of W W + jet production at hadron colliders, with subsequent leptonic decays of the W -bosons included. The calculation of the one-loop contributions is performed using generalized unitarity methods in order to derive analytic expressions for the relevant amplitudes. These amplitudes have been implemented in the parton-level Monte Carlo generator MCFM, which we use to provide a complete next-to-leading order calculation. Predictions for total cross-… Show more

“…[35,36], and have been used to compute the NLO QCD corrections to gg → W + W − [37], including all partonic processes with external gluons, while the ones with external quarks are still unknown to date. Calculations at NLO QCD for W + W − production in association with one [38][39][40][41] and two [42,43] jets are also important ingredients of inclusive W + W − production at NNLO QCD and beyond. The merging of NLO QCD predictions for pp → W + W − + 0, 1 jets 1 has been presented in ref.…”

“…In the ratios different PDF replicas are correlated across processes and the resulting errors on the respective ratio are combined in quadrature son samples that include at least one extra jet at matrixelement level. At the TeV scale, the EW corrections to pp → V V + jet can become quite large [69,70] and should ultimately be included, together with the corresponding QCD corrections [71][72][73][74][75][76][77][78].…”
