“…Vários estudos ópticos em diamante sintético crescidos por HPHT, utilizando níquel como solvente-catalizador, foram relatados, onde certas transições ópticas associadas a deslocamentos isotópicos das ZPL's (zero phonon lines) em 1,40; 1,88; 2,51 e 3,1 eV [52-56] foram atribuídas à incorporação de impurezas de níquel no cristal. Recentemente, Nazaré et al [5] mostraram que a transição óptica de ZPL em 2,51 eV a baixas temperaturas (4K) ocorre em um defeito com simetria tetraédrica, concluindo que o espectro EPR de Isoya et al [2] e esta transição estão correlacionadas e portanto pertencem ao mesmo defeito (C:Ni − s ), ou seja, o centro W8.ε v é o topo da faixa de valência do diamante[57,58].…”
