“…Although these species are frequently sympatric, M. longicaudus (an herbivore) tends to prefer more open herbaceous habitats, P. keeni (an omnivore) typically occurs in forest and scrub habitats, and S. monticola (an insectivore) usually occupies forested and non‐forested habitats with dense ground cover (Van Horne, ; Smith & Belk, ; Smolen & Keller, ; Zheng, Arbogast, & Kenagy, ).
