Abstract:A facile and highly efficient chemoselective reduction of α,β‐unsaturated amides leading to saturated amide has been described. In situ generated nickel boride was found to act as an efficient reagent for the conjugate reduction. The reaction proceeds smoothly under an inert atmosphere at ambient temperature with a moderate to good yield. Both aliphatic and aromatic α,β‐unsaturated amides were found to be compatible with the reaction protocol.
