Nickel-Cobalt Salen Organometallic Complexes Encapsulated in Mesoporous NaA Nanozeolite for Electrocatalytic Quantification of Ascorbic Acid and Paracetamol

Abstract: Goal of current study was fabrication of novel voltammetric nanosensor for the synchronize quantification of ascorbic acid (AA) and paracetamol (PAR) by nickel-cobalt salen complexes encapsulated in the supercages of NaA nanozeolite modified carbon paste electrode (NiCoSalenA/CPE). For this purpose, NiCoSalenA nanocomposite was firstly prepared and characterized by various methods. Also, cyclic voltammetry (CV), choronoamperometry (CHA) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) were utilized to evaluate perform… Show more

“…The choice of ascorbic acid was driven by the very well-described mechanism of its catalytic oxidation in the literature [39,40], resulting from the very high interest in this compound. Ascorbic acid has been studied for a long time [39,40] and is still an object of catalytic research [41,42]. In the presence of various catalysts, the catalytic oxidation processes are stable, giving hope for a measurable electrocatalytic effect.…”

“…[6] Numerous reports address the detection of VC or PA in conjunction with other drugs, [6][7] but there is limited literature on simultaneous VC and PA detection using poly(amino acid)-modified electrodes. [3a] Fo example Masihpour et al [8] introduced a voltammetric nanosensor, the NaA nanozeolite modified carbon paste electrode (NiCoSalenA/CPE), demonstrating notable catalytic rate constants (k) of 3.73×10 7 and 1.27×10 7 cm 3 mol À 1 s À 1 for VC and PA, respectively, accompanied by low limits of detection (0.82 μM for VC and 0.51 μM for PA) and wide linear dynamic ranges (2.73-80.70 μM for VC and 1.71-32.50 μM, 32.50-137.60 μM for PA). Screen printing technology, a modern technique, is employed to manufacture miniaturized and sensitive portable electrochemical sensors.…”
