337Summary in this paper, we describe our results on the condensations of diazo coupled/3-diketones with alkylamines in the presence ~-N-alkylimine arylhydrazone ligand complexes of nickel(ll) of nickel(ll) ion to yield (2) in an attempt to stabilise the have been synthesised by metal template reactions. The azomethine nitrogen and the or-nitrogen of the arylhydrazone coordinate to the metal with square-planar geometry around the nickel(ll) ion. Structures have been proposed based on the spectral properties of the complexes.
