Nietzsche: the Resurrection of Parts

Abstract: This is an intro the Nietzsche Renaissance in West Germany, an undeniably vital cultural phenomenon of the eighties. Its advent had a certain apocalyptic suddenness. In 1976 Die Welt ran a headline: &dquo; The French love Nietzsche,&dquo;, as if this were some exotic Gallic perversion, but a scant three years later the Frankfurter Rundschau attested a new vogue for Nietzsche in West Germany, and this was taken up and re-proclaimed until the Spiegel of June 8th 1981 bestowed with its cover story and twenty-eight… Show more

“…As we see from equation (3.9), though thermal with temperature T = (2πξ) −1 , the spectrum of the vacuum EMT, in general, has a non-Planckian form: the density-of-states factor is not proportional to ω D−1 dω. It is interesting to note that for even values of the space dimension D, this thermal distribution for the scalar field is of Fermi-Dirac type (see also [28][29][30]). Note that for the case of a two-dimensional spacetime we cannot directly put D = 1 into the integral (3.9).…”

“…An electronic means for routing the detector signals was used to select precise energy windows within this velocity range. 42 A synchronous router used the output from the MCS of the Ranger MS-900 drive controller to direct the storage of diffraction patterns into eight memory groups, or ''bins,'' corresponding to the different velocity intervals. The component diffraction patterns and their corresponding memory groups are identified by the designation of these bins.…”
