Abstract:Niosomes are non-ionic surfactant-based multilamellar or unilamellar vesicles in which an aqueous solute solution is completely encapsulated by a membrane formed by surfactant macromolecules organised as a bilayer. Because vesicles are made up of a bilayer of non-ionic surface-active substances, the term "Niosomes" was coined (non-ionic surfactants).
