“…This geometric arrangement is equivalent to that observed in the related complex [Mo(η 3 -C 3 H 5 )(CF 3 SO 3 )(CO) 2 (2-(2′-pyridyl) benzimidazole)] [25], in which the Mo-OSO 2 CF 3 bond makes with the 2-(2′-pyridyl)benzimidazole plane an angle of 79.1°. The Mo-O bond of 2.264(2) Å in T1 is slightly longer than the corresponding one of 2.2394(15) Å in T2, which is similar to the observed in the quoted complex (2.233(5) Å).…”

“…All the complexes with X = Br were obtained directly from reaction between [MBr(η 3 -C 3 H 5 )(CO) 2 (CH 3 CN) 2 ] (M = Mo, [26]W, [27]) and the diimine ligand, which led to the substitution of the two nitrile ligands (similarly for X = Cl). Reaction of [Mo(η 3 -C 3 H 5 )Br(CO) 2 (N-N)] with Tl[CF 3 SO 3 ] in CH 3 CN resulted in loss of the halide and coordination of the triflate ion, as reported for other complexes [25]. The triflate complexes T1 and T2 were structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (see 3.2).…”

“…Our investigation follows the fundamental work of Romão et al, who established the allyl [(η 3 -C3H5)Mo(CO)2L2Br], cyclopentadienyl and indenyl molybdenum compounds [(η 5 -Cp')Mo(CO)2L2][BF4] (Cp': Cp = C5H5, Ind = C9H7), where L2 is N,N-, S,S-or P,P-chelating ligand, as new class of highly cytotoxic species against several tumor cell lines. [5] Following studies have extended the series of cytotoxic active compounds [6] and brought an early insight into mechanism of their action. [7] The cytotoxicity of the molybdenum compounds seems to correlate mainly with nature of coordinated chelating ligand while the substitution in the π-coordinated ligand play only minor role.…”

“…The Schiff bases containing ONS donor atoms act as superior chelating agents for the transition and nontransition metal ions and showed remarkable biological activities [2, 3]. Coordination of these compounds with metal ions, such as copper and nickel, often enhance their activities [4].…”
