Nitrogen-doped porous carbons from bipyridine-based metal-organic frameworks: Electrocatalysis for oxygen reduction reaction and Pt-catalyst support for methanol electrooxidation

Abstract: Available online xxxx A B S T R A C TA novel pyridine-containing metal-organic framework (MOF), [Zn(bpdc)DMA]AEDMF, was first constructed by solvothermal reaction of 2,2 0 -bipyridine-5,5 0 -dicarboxylate (bpdc) with zinc nitrate, and then it was converted to nitrogen-doped porous carbons (NPCs) by direct carbonization. The as-prepared porous carbon (NPC800) was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), N 2 sorption isotherms, and Xray photoelectron spectroscopy. NPC8… Show more

“…It has been shown in previous work that MOFCs can inherit some of the functionalities from their parent MOFs during pyrolysis . For CO 2 capture, an enhancement of the CO 2 adsorption affinity can be expected by incorporating pyridinic‐N groups on the surface of porous carbon.…”

“…It has several different combinations of coordination modes or distinct coordination behaviors when bonding to central metal atoms, and many coordination polymers with intriguing architectures have been synthesized 15. Some of them exhibit outstanding performance in the areas of gas storage, catalysis, and optics 3b,15c,15d,16…”
