“…5 For individuals aged 90 and older undergoing PCI, an angioplasty success rate of 90% has been reported. 6,7 Nevertheless, PCI should be performed with restraint in elderly adults, for example by focusing on target lesion revascularization. In the case described herein, despite three-vessel disease, only RCA revascularization was performed, limiting the risk of the procedure, because it was felt that the collateral blood flow to the left coronary artery and its underlying myocardium would alleviate the…”

“…Because slow‐transit constipation is not responsive to levodopa, add‐on therapies have been tried, with variable benefits . The results of a colonic transit time (CTT) test before and after administration of nizatidine, which acts on histamine H2 receptors, is presented.…”

“…To the Editor: Slow gastrointestinal transport can be attributed to myenteric plexus pathology in Parkinson's disease (PD), 1,2 wherein altered balance of cholinergic and 5-HT4 serotonergic excitation and D2 dopaminergic inhibition might occur. 1,2 Ghrelin and other hormonal changes further affect this. 3 Slow transport leads to emergency pseudoobstruction and malignant syndrome due to inefficient jejunal absorption of levodopa.…”

“…The peak time of the 13 C-dose-excess curve (T max ( 13 C)) was obtained, based on the change of the ratio of 13 CO 2 to 12 CO 2 (D 13 CO 2 (&)), 2,4 reflecting GE function. 2,4 Statistical analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney U-test. None had comorbid diseases (e.g., diabetes mellitus) or were taking drugs that might affect GE.…”
