Abstract: Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is diagnostic tool to avoid inheritance of genetic disease by transferring unaffected embryos. Recently, PCR and FISH have been mainly applied to the diagnosis of single gene disorders and chromosomal abnormalities, respectively.
