No Evidence of HIV Infection Among the General Population of Mashhad, Northeast of Iran

Abstract: Background: HIV/AIDS is a serious global health problem with an adverse impact on human health and his socioeconomic status in different countries. “…Overall, people in the general population are at a lower risk of being diagnosed with HIV throughout their life, and the risk is even less in the female population. Interestingly, in a population-based sero-epidemiological study on HIV infection in the general population of Mashhad in 2009 there was no evidence of HIV infection ( 15 ).
