Show more

“…The JMS nodule is a skin metastasis from abdominopelvic cancer [8] . Its incidence is low, representing 1%-3% of all abdominopelvic neoplasms with a poor prognosis due to its late diagnostic, especially in a country with limited resources [1] . The gastrointestinal sphere is the most frequent site of the primary tumor in 35%- 65% of cases followed by a gynecologic origin in 12%-35% [9] .…”

“…Sister Marie Joseph's (JMS) nodule is a cutaneous umbilical metastasis of gastro-intestinal tract cancer or gynecologic area [1] . It represents a discreet and rare clinical sign, which does not show the existence only of a malignant visceral tumor, but which also reveals the bad prognosis of these cancers due to the late diagnosis [2] .…”

“…Sister Mary Joseph's nodule (SMJ) is a palpable cutaneous umbilical nodule, most often secondary to a metastasis from an abdomino-pelvic malignancy. Classically, the primary tumor is an adenocarcinoma in 75%, most commonly of gastric, ovarian, colonic or pancreatic origin [1,3].…”

“…Sister Marie-Joseph's nodule is an exceptional metastatic localization of a cancer, most often an intraabdominal and/or a pelvic one. It is a discreet and rare clinical sign, which not only shows the occurrence of a visceral malignant tumor but also the poor prognosis of this tumor [1,2]. It has a problem of etiological diagnosis because the search for the primary tumor is not always easy.…”
