Abstract:Abstract-In this paper, three noise correlation-aided iterative decoding schemes are proposed for magnetic recording channels, where the correlation is imposed by the equalizer's spectral shaping effect. The first approach exploits the noise' correlation in the form of linear prediction-aided detection by increasing the number of detector trellis states invoked by the Bahl, Cocke, Jelinek, and Raviv (BCJR) detection algorithm. In the second approach, we have extended the first technique by employing both previ… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
