Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease : Aspects on Diagnosis and Long-term Prognosis

Abstract: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common cause of chronic liver disease affecting approximately 25% of the global population. NAFLD is commonly recognized as the hepatic manifestation of the metabolic syndrome, i.e. abdominal adiposity, dyslipidaemia, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
