Non-coherent impulse radio UWB receiver for wireless body area network system

Abstract

A non-coherent impulse radio ultra-wideband (IR UWB) receiver for wireless body area network (WBAN) system is proposed in this paper. Code-multiplexed transmitted refer ence (CM-TR) scheme has been considered as the basis for sig naling scheme and a novel recursive averaging process is applied to improve the error performance. The performance of the pro posed scheme is evaluated with WBAN channel model (CM).The performance is compared with the conventional CM-TR receiver in terms of un-coded bit error rate (BER). Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the BER per formance considerably with CM4.
