Abstract:A control law is derived for the Zero-Inertia (ZI) powertrain, a non-linear system with an ill-defined relative degree. Classical non-linear feedback control of this system is impossible. The control law designed in this article uses approximate input-output linearisation. Stability of the closed loop system is proved using Lyapunov's direct method and the theorem of Hartman-Grobman. Simulations show that the new control law results in good tracking behaviour.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
