Non-LTE models for synthetic spectra of Type Ia supernovae

Abstract: Context. Type Ia supernovae (SN Ia) have become an invaluable cosmological tool because their exceptional brightness makes them observable even at very large distances (up to redshifts around z ≈ 1).
