Non-Spherical Cavitation Bubbles: A Review

Abstract: Cavitation is a phase-change phenomenon from the liquid to the gas phase due to an increased flow velocity. As it causes severe erosion and noise, it is harmful to hydraulic machinery such as pumps, valves, and screw propellers. However, it can be utilized for water treatment, in chemical reactors, and as a mechanical surface treatment, as radicals and impacts at the point of cavitation bubble collapse can be utilized.
