In order to improve the accuracy of pixel coupled infrared polarization imaging system, based on the analysis of the characteristics of blind elements, a blind element detection and correction method based on the nearest neighbor parameter is proposed. Blind elements are detected by two-way derivative operation in Stokes vector, the concepts of nearest neighbor and reference polarization pixel are introduced, and the identification methods of fixed blind elements, random blind elements and point targets are classified. According to the polarization parameter distribution in the neighborhood of the blind element, the blind element correction is realized. The experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the acquisition ability of polarization information of incident light, reduce the system error, and improve the detection accuracy of the pixel coupled polarization imaging system.
