Nonlinear Magneto-Optics of Magnetic Thin Films

Abstract: Nonlinear Optical (Second harmonic) reflectivity of magnetic surfaces gives rise to Magneto-Optical effects that are orders of magnitude larger than their linear equivalents. Together with its intrinsic interface sensitivity, this new technique appears to be very suitable for the study of magnetic thin films and multilayers and may lead to a novel way of Nonlinear Magneto-Optical imaging.
