Nonlinear modelling of the dynamic response of pipe conveying fluid coated with FRP under seismic load: comparison of RSM and kriging approach

Abstract: In order to increase the computational efficiency of pipes conveying fluid system with fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) layer under seismic and thermal loads, the ability of response surface (RSM) and kriging models is investigated. The two models of RSM and kriging are calibrated based on the analytical data points of maximum dynamical displacements, which are obtained by analytical analysis. Three input variables as thickness-to-radius ratio (h/R), temperature and the number of FRP layers are used to build the… Show more

“…Many researchers have established several optimization techniques to resolve many engineering constraints. [22][23][24][25] In this regard, input process parameter optimization of autogenous A-TIG welding is very important for utilizing the advantages of the technique to the fullest and for fabricating sound joints of 10 mm thick AISI 904L plates. One of the most common techniques to get optimal combinations of welding process parameters is response surface methodology (RSM) which combines statistical and mathematical tools for the effective development of empirical models.…”
