Abstract:Crystals of the family of tetragonal, non‐centrosymmetric melilites have attracted interest as nonlinear optical, piezoelectric, and ferroelectric materials. This work presents an ab initio study of the optical properties of europium melilite, Eu2MgSi2O7.
