Nonperturbative structure of the quark-gluon vertex

Abstract: The complete tensor structure of the quark-gluon vertex in Landau gauge is determined at two kinematical points ('asymmetric' and 'symmetric') from lattice QCD in the quenched approximation. The simulations are carried out at β = 6.0, using a meanfield improved Sheikholeslami-Wohlert fermion action, with two quark masses ∼ 60 and 115 MeV. We find substantial deviations from the abelian form at the asymmetric point. The mass dependence is found to be negligible. At the symmetric point, the form factor related t… Show more

“…Using ansätze for the three-and four-point vertices of the theory, first self-consistent solutions for the gluon and quark propagator have been obtained in [222]. Modern truncations also include numerical solutions for the three-and four-point functions [209,215,216] whose results compare well with those from lattice QCD [199,[223][224][225][226][227]. The typical behaviour of the quark mass function for different quark flavours is shown in the right panel of Fig.…”

“…Such form factors are sensitive to different aspects of quark-nuclear physics and should prove useful, e.g., in constraining coupled-channel models for medium-energy production reactions on the nucleon. This is important to the search for the so-called missing nucleon resonances 15 and the related problem of identifying exotic baryons.…”

“…The amplitudes of the dressed quarkgluon vertex at k = 0 for m q (2 GeV) = 60 MeV. Quenched lattice data [38] are compared to the results of the DSE-Lat model [9], and for λ 1 (p) the Abelian Ansatz is also shown. Adapted from [9].…”
