Abstract:The author investigates the use, the extent, and the risks of nonstandard forms of employment in Greece during the crisis. Much of the recovery of labor market indicators observed in the last 2 years is due to the growth of nonstandard employment at the expense of permanent and stable employment. Its spread is an issue of concern regarding the sustainability and the quality of jobs created as well as its ability to lift the vicious cycle of unemployment and low‐income security.
