Abstract

<jats:p>We report a recent case of non-O1, non-O139, nontoxigenic<jats:italic>Vibrio cholerae</jats:italic>septicemia in a post-liver-transplant immunocompromised patient associated with prior seafood consumption. Non-O1, non-O139<jats:italic>V. cholerae</jats:italic>strains have been reported in several cases of extraintestinal infections and seem to be emerging infectious agents especially in patients with immunocompromising conditions.</jats:p>

The first case of bacteraemia due to non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae in a type 2 diabetes mellitus patient in mainland China
