Abstract: Introduction: First metatarsophalangeal joint (MTPJ) arthrodesis is a common treatment for various foot conditions, with nonunion as a frequent complication. The incidence of nonunion varies widely in the literature. In particular, males have a higher risk of nonunion than females.
