Normalization of Temporal Information in Estonian

Abstract: I present a model for processing temporal information in Estonian natural language. I have built a tool to convert natural-language calendar expressions to semi-formalized semantic representation. I have further used this representation to construct formal SQL constraints, which can be enforced on any relational database. The model supports compound expressions (conjunctive and disjunctive), negation and exception expressions. The system is built to work on Oracle databases and is currently running on Oracle 1… Show more

“…Inglise ja prantsuse keele jaoks on loodud ka TimeML mär-gendusega tekstikorpused (nn TimeBank korpused 1 ). Eesti keeles on ajaväljendite tuvastamise ülesannet käsitletud kõige põhjali-kumalt dialoogisüsteemide kontekstis (Treumuth 2008), kus eesmärgiks on olnud kasutajasisendist ajaväljendite leidmine ning nendele vastavate infopäringute tegemine (nt kinokavast etteantud kuupäeva(de)l linastuvate filmide leidmine).…”

“…It may be used to represent the qualitative temporal relations between events. It has been applied in combat coordination [2], natural language processing [3,4,5], robot [6], diagnosis [7] and so on. Arun K. Pujari proposed INDU [8] temporal system in 1999, which is a refinement of Allen's interval algebra. There are altogether thirteen basic temporal relations in Allen's interval algebra.…”
