Nosocomial outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 delta variant among vaccinated healthcare workers and immunocompromised patients on a solid-organ transplant unit: Complexities of an epidemiologic and genomic investigation

Abstract

In September 2021, a cluster of six patients with nosocomial COVID-19 were identified in a transplant unit. A visitor and 11 healthcare workers also tested positive. Genomic sequencing identified three separate introductions of SARS-CoV-2 with related transmission amongst the identified patients and healthcare workers.
