Nostalgia Counteracts Social Anxiety and Enhances Interpersonal Competence

Abstract: Socially anxious individuals struggle with establishing and maintaining social relationships. We hypothesized that, when socially anxious, people often turn to nostalgia, which alleviates the interpersonal competence deficits that accompany social anxiety.
