“…For patients who are amenable to discussion, and whose externalizing, wrathful purposes may stem from identifiable losses, traumas, and complicated grief, some moderation of activated rage may be possible by finding more prosocial outlets for their strong feelings, for example, via groups and organizations adaptively devoted to alleviating difficulties contributing to the initial traumas. At times, strategies developed to change criminal and extremist attitudes might be useful (Schumann et al, 2022).
