Abstract:From the tagging of Atlantic herring in different seasons at 23 localities along the east and southeast coasts of Newfoundland during 1974-81, the tag recoveries indicated substantial intermingling of the local populations of the different bays. This intermingling is mainly due to northward feeding migrations in summer and southward migrations in autumn to over-wintering areas.
