Novel Ambiphilic Dichlorocarbenoid Equivalent in Alkene Cyclopropanation and Carbonyl Olefination.

Abstract: Cyclopropanation reactions O 0138Novel Ambiphilic Dichlorocarbenoid Equivalent in Alkene Cyclopropanation and Carbonyl Olefination. -The complex generated from CCl4, Mg, and TiCl4 is found to be a highly efficient dichlorocarbenoid equivalent. It smoothly reacts with various alkenes to afford cyclopropane derivatives. Starting from dienes selective monocyclopropanation is possible. With carbonyl compounds effective and chemoselective dichloromethylenation takes place.
