Abstract:Antipsychotic agents, highly benefit for the treatment of a range of psychiatric disorders and act by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain and interfering with dopaminergic transmission. Schizophrenia and mania which are psychosis are treated by antipsychotic drugs. These medicines are classified as typical or atypical antipsychotic drugs.
