Novel concepts and strategies in skull base reconstruction after endoscopic endonasal surgery

Abstract: <p align="left">Recently, a variety of craniofacial approaches has been adopted to enter the skull base, among those, the endonasal endoscopic technique. An effective watertight thereafter:  the reconstruction can be performed using different materials, both autologous and non-autologous, individually or combined in a multilayer fashion. The current study was focused on the development of new advanced devices and techniques, aiding in reducing postoperative CSF leak rate. Additive manufacturing allows th… Show more

“…Although the bone healing ability of WH alone was comparable with HA, various applications should be applied to enhance osteoconductivity through the change of fabrication method, porosity, crystal structure, and mixing with other scaffolds or growth factors. As 3-dimentional printing technology has widely applied on the various composite bone scaffolds and several including sinusoidal magnetic field [ 20 , 21 ], clinical application of 3D printing alloplastic bone substitutes has been proposed [ 22 ]. Therefore, the 3D technology could be developed by using WH with its proven osteoconductivity, to wide-range clinical application for implant dentistry.…”

“…The CT imaging technique has been used in many biomedical applications and is expected to be efficient in the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection. Some of the common biomedical applications of CT imaging include cancer detection [ 110 ], tumor identification [ 111 ], analysis of the interstitial lung images [ 112 ], pancreas segmentation [ 113 ], dental restoration, and tooth cavity detection [ 114 , 115 ]. Recently, CT imaging is considered an effective method for the detection and monitoring of the symptoms of COVID-19 patients.…”
