Abstract:Cascade control structures with inner current and outer speed loop, usually utilizing PI controllers, are widely used for electrical drives to meet high‐quality requirements. The present paper introduces design guidelines via pole placement for achieving control gains both in continuous and discrete time preserving the original cascade control structure with the initially applied controllers.
