Novel Detection of Norovirus and Double Clostridium difficile in a Closed Cartridge System

Abstract: Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) has become the main cause of diarrhea-related diseases in domestic (China) inpatients. High-sensitivity and high-specificity detection methods for CDI must be applied clinically for CDI supervisory control. In this paper, we introduce a detection method for C. difficile and Norovirus based on real-time PCR. We developed and optimized a primer–probe for Norovirus targets tcdA and tcdB with remarkably increased detection sensitivity. We then used this method in an integrate… Show more

“…2) Immunoassay has high specificity and insufficient sensitivity, which may lead to false negative ( Chauhan et al, 2018 ; Fatima et al, 2021 ). 3) Nucleic acid detection methods in molecular biology have outstanding advantages, such as high sensitivity and specificity ( Chen et al, 2020 ; Tang et al, 2020 ; Chen et al, 2022 ; Liu et al, 2022 ). So, this study aimed to design a PCR typing detection method for detecting HSV-1 or HSV-2 in the same reaction system ( Figure 1 ), and it has high specificity and is difficult to appear with false positive.…”
