Mobile applications are developed and released to the market every day. Due to the intense usage of mobile applications, their quality matters. End users’ rejection of mobile apps increases from time to time due to their low quality and lack of proper mobile testing. This indicates that the role of mobile application testing is crucial in the acceptance of a given software product. Test engineers use automation frameworks for testing their mobile applications. Automated testing brings several advantages to the development team. For example, automated checks are used for regression testing, fast execution of test scripts, and providing quick feedback for the development team. A systematic literature review has been used to identify and collect evidence on automated testing frameworks for mobile application testing. A total of 56 relevant research papers were identified that were published in prominent journals and conferences until February 2023. The results were summarized and tabulated to provide insights into the suitability of the existing automation testing framework for mobile application testing. We identified the major test concerns and test challenges in performing mobile automation testing. The results showed that the keyword-driven testing framework is the widely used approach, but recently, hybrid approaches have been adopted for mobile test automation. On the other hand, this review indicated that the existing frameworks need to be customized using reusable and domain-specific keywords to make them suitable for mobile application testing. Considering this, this study proposes an architecture, the mobile-based automation testing framework (MATF). In the future, to address the mobile application testing challenges, the authors will work on implementing the proposed framework (MATF).

The quality of the software before commercialization, requires that the software goes through a set testing process of its various properties in order to avoid errors, maintain the quality and increase the value of the software. In this research article, we apply the black box testing method, where this test focuses on the quality of the software from the user's point of view. Increasingly sophisticated technology makes it possible to run tests automatically using tools. This research uses Katalon Studio's tools for automated testing. This allows you to use the function more efficiently. As a result of this test, we successfully implemented automated tests using Katalon Studio's tools. It reduces the time for repeated tests with large amounts of data, automatically prints and displays more detailed test results, and finds easily understandable errors.

In Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), there are four phases involved. They are analysis, design, implement and testing. Testing is done to ensure the functionalities of the system are correct. There are many approaches to software testing. It is usually divided into two approaches: manual testing or automatic testing. However, these days, with the rapidly advanced technology, performing software testing manually has become hugely laborious but still doable. Therefore, experts of the software development field are beginning to go for automatic testing. This paper presents a case study of mobile application and discusses how test cases can be generated automatically from the application using different automatic tools. Three software testing tools have been used to generate test cases automatically. The results from generating test cases automatically from these three tools are then being compared together with the results of generating test cases using manual testing technique.
